Right-click Local Area Connection and then select Properties.

If available, Client for Microsoft Networks should be checked.

Windows XP
- Click the Start button and then select My Network Places.

Right-click My Network Places and then select Properties.

Right-click Local Area Connection and then select Properties.

If available from the General tab, Client for Microsoft Networks should be checked.
Windows 98

On the Desktop, right-click Network Neighborhood and then select Properties.

Client for Microsoft Networks should be displayed in the list of installed network components.
