You can connect multiple computers to Web-ster DSL quickly and easily. Follow the step-by-step instruction below to complete your home or business network.

Before multiple computers can be connected to Web-ster DSL through a router, you must first release the IP addresses on all computers that have previously been connected to DSL.
Windows 95/98 Instructions
- Click Start button.
- Click Run.
- At the prompt, type winipcfg and then click OK.
- From the drop-down menu, select your network card. (If PPP adapter is displayed, select your network adapter instead.)

- At the command prompt, type cmd and then click OK.
- At the prompt, type ipconfig /release. The IP address displays as 0.0.0.0.
- Disconnect the computer from the DSL modem and then plug in your router.
Step 2: Disconnect Ethernet Cable
The Ethernet cable runs from your modem to your computer. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the modem.
Step 3: Shut Down Computers
After you have unplugged the Ethernet cable, shut down all computers.
Step 4: Connect Modem to the Router
Using an Ethernet cable, connect your modem to the router.
Note: Many routers have ports labeled uplink or WAN that are designated for receiving Ethernet cable from modems. Please check the instructions included with your router to determine where to connect your modem Ethernet cable.
Step 5: Connect Router to Power Source
Plug the router into the power source and check to make sure the power light is illuminated. If you experience technical problems with the router, please contact the router's manufacturer.
Step 6: Connect Router to Switch
Connect the router to the hub with up to 328 feet of Ethernet cable.
Step 7: Connect Computers to Switch
Connect all computers to the switch with Ethernet cables.
Step 8: Turn On All Computers
After all hardware has been connected, double-check to make sure all connections are secure. Turn on all computers and proceed to step 9, below.
Step 9: Verify DSL Connection
With your computers turned on, please click Start and then follow steps A through D.
Step A
Click Run.
Step B
In the Open: field, type command and then press Enter.
Step C
The flashing prompt appears.
If you are a Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP user, please type IPconfig/ renew and then press Enter.
If you are a Windows 98 user, please type ipconfig/ renew_all and then press Enter.
Step D
If Web-ster DSL is installed correctly, an IP address starting with 65.xxx.xxx.xxx appears.
If the IP address begins with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, your computer has not yet received an IP address from Web-ster. Please complete steps 1 through 3 (above) again, and then check that the modem’s ENET light displays a solid light.
If your computer displays the correct IP address, you may install the Web-ster software.
